What a partnership has to respect

Three things, and they are not negotiable because they are already published elsewhere and people have paid money on the strength of them.

  • Editorial independence. A partner does not review, approve or see a story before it runs. Nothing bought here buys coverage.
  • Disclosure. If we report on a partner, the story names the relationship. That is in our editorial standards, not in a side letter.
  • Our sources stay ours. Tips, county reports and the people who file them are not shared, sold or handed on.

What we have not decided

There are no partnership tiers, no package, and no price. We would rather start from what you actually want to do than hand you a menu somebody invented. If a structure comes out of these conversations, it will be published here.

Looking for something more specific? Sponsorship underwrites the work and is named on it; advertising buys space and never coverage. They are different arrangements and we keep them apart.
