UNDERWRITING · SPONSORS & DONORS
Become a Sponsor
The Colony OK sells no advertising — not pre-roll, not banners, not sponsored stories. What an Oklahoma business can do is underwrite the platform around the journalism: the shows, the broadcasts, the newsletter and the county desks. Sponsors fund the signal. They never fund the coverage.
What sponsorship underwrites
THE PLATFORM, NOT THE DESK- Podcast production and distribution across the show network.
- Live broadcast costs — encoders, bandwidth, and the crew on an event.
- The newsletter that carries what we filed and what we spent.
- County desks: mileage, records requests, the unglamorous cost of local reporting.
- Equipment and field costs for reporters already on the masthead.
What it never buys
STATED BEFORE THE ASK- Coverage. No sponsor decides what gets reported, or what does not.
- Placement in a story, a headline, or a byline.
- Advance review, editorial input, or the right to kill a piece.
- A seat on the masthead. Contributors are invited on the strength of their work — which is why the paid exposure tiers this page replaced are gone.
The charter states it plainly: Article V is the funding statement, and it is not for sale. That is exactly why this audience is worth reaching.
How it works
ONE CONVERSATION, IN WRITINGTell us the business, the audience you want to reach, and what you would like to underwrite. We answer with what is actually available, agree the terms in writing, and disclose the sponsorship where the work runs. Terms are per sponsor, because there is no inventory to sell.

Send your company name and what you have in mind. Underwriting is arranged directly with the desk, and you will hear back within two business days.

DONATIONS · NO BUSINESS REQUIREDYou do not need a company to hold this thing up. A gift — once, or monthly — funds the same work a sponsorship does, with nothing expected back. Donors are listed on the Wall of Honor unless they ask not to be.
Giving is not a membership and buys no access. If you want the library, the broadcasts and the daily briefing, that is a membership; if you want your name on the founding roll, that is the charter.
